Andaman Islands : My top 5 beaches

Andaman Islands : My top 5 beaches

My favourite 5  beaches in Andaman Islands.

The most important aspect of an island state is the beaches. These beaches are the main attractions for everyone. Andaman is full of great and beautiful beaches.

So here are my favourite 5 beaches of the Andaman Islands.

If you start counting beaches, it will easily cross 10-15, considering only the most highlighted locations of Andaman. We were lucky to enjoy 10 beaches in our 9 day trip. These were located around Port Blair and the 2 islands of Havelock & Neil. All of them were good in their own way. But I love beaches where you can get into the water and have a fun time.

1. Radhanagar Beach, Havelock

Radhanagar Beach

Ranked as the best beach of India & Asia and the 7th best beach in the world by the Time Magazine – Radhanagar Beach needs no introduction. White shining sands, turquoise blue waters, and extravagant green palm vegetation makes it an ideal place for a casual walk, family picnic. The beach is huge, so you will always find your own place even when it’s crowded. Even if getting in the water is not your things, visit the beach during the sunset and take a walk barefoot.

2. Bharatpur Beach, Neil Island

Bharatpur Beach

Gifted with a rich marine life with corals and colourful fish Bharatpur beach is very famous among the scuba divers. The sprawling beach has vibrant coral reefs and the place is also perfect for swimming. With the view of the turquoise water and the sandy beaches, this beach is very popular among people.

3. Red Skin Island, MGMNP, Wandoor

RedSkin Island

The coveted beach is part of the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, Wandoor. It’s a narrow beach extended from the mangroves of the island. Because of controlled access and very high conservation measure, the marine life is very rich is diversity. The island is famous for its coral and a marine life.

4. Vijaynagar Beach, Havelock

Vijaynagar Beach

Also known as the Beach No 5, Vijaynagar Beach is one of the best beaches in Andaman. The water is shallow & clean and is, therefore, perfect for swimming. This was part of the beach resort we stayed in, so we got the best experience here.  A walk after dinner was a must for us. In the morning, the cerulean sky casts a mystic spell and you will fall in love with the elegance and solitude of Mahua trees along the sea shore.

5. Lakshmanpur Beach 1 (Sunset Beach), Neil Island

Lakshmanpur Beach

With the white sandy beach and enticing coral reefs, this is another best beaches in Andaman which you should definitely try. Located on the Neil Island one can find a lot of trees surrounding the whole vicinity of the island. Soak in the stunning beauty of the region while you head out to this beach.
